If your alarm didn’t ring
First, open the Alarm tab: the line under your alarm says whether it’s all set, and offers a fix when something is off. Then check:
- Notifications are on for Not-An-Alarm. Your briefing arrives as one.
- Full-screen notifications are allowed, so the wake screen can come up over the lock screen. The app’s Settings tell you if they’re off.
- Background activity isn’t restricted: in Android’s settings, set Not-An-Alarm’s battery use to Unrestricted. Some phones stop apps they think are unused.
- Your phone had an internet connection at alarm time.
- Do Not Disturb doesn’t silence alarms, and the volume on the Alarm tab isn’t too low.
When you write
It helps to include your phone model, your Android version, and the day and time the problem happened. For a briefing that said something wrong, a thumbs down on the Today tab tells me which morning it was.
